Our Story

Hello, I'm Lewis Grounds and my professional journey has not been in coffee.  Most of my career was spent gaining business knowledge while working and traveling for a leading mattress manufacturer based in Lexington, Kentucky.  During this time I developed a love for exceptional coffee and would often joke with colleagues and customers that with a name like "Grounds", I should someday open a coffee business.  After much thought and prayer, that day finally arrived!

My concept is straightforward: to offer premium great-tasting coffee ("specialty coffee") online for home brewing. The coffee is packaged as whole beans for maximum freshness.  It's essential that the coffee be fresh roasted by a true artisan, and I wanted the roastery to be in the heart of the Bluegrass region of Kentucky. While we gladly ship our coffee to any of the contiguous 48 states, our primary focus is on serving the Lexington, KY area where I live.

Since I wasn't originally in the coffee industry, I sought an expert supplier who met all my criteria.  Fortunately, I found a supplier with over 40 years of industry experience, with long-standing relationships for sourcing high-quality coffee globally, and a masterful talent for roasting.
